IU: A New Home

College is one of the scariest, yet most exciting time of one’s life. For most of us, we move away from our family and friends. My freshman year at IU has been amazing and I would not change this experience for the world. Indiana University is a perfect school for me as well as thousands of other students. As hard as it was to leave the life I once knew, my family and friends have supported me through it all. I have spent this year discovering more about myself than I ever thought I could. I was nervous about leaving my family and the place I have lived for my entire life, but at IU, I have gained a whole new family. I have created a bond with my dorm floor that I will never forget. We went through this thrilling yet frightening experience in our lives together. I have gained best friends that I will have for the rest of my life. IU has taught me how to balance my schooling as well as a social life. I have participated in so much this year: I have gone to games, experienced Little 5, and watched my peers perform on stage. IU’s campus has an amazing spirit that I love participating in. We are beyond proud to call ourselves true Hoosiers. Indiana University is a part of me now and it will forever be a place I call home.
